This is the message from Ibrahim Youssef :

You cannot imagine how difficult it is to live inside the Gaza Strip and how difficult it is to maintain your life and that of your family.

Here, we wake up in the morning under fire in order to go to far areas just to get water, then we return and go to look for a source to charge the batteries. I was injured twice while working in the hospital when we were targeted more than 3 times. We sleep and we do not know if we will wake up or not.

My family and I are living here. It is a real nightmare that no one can imagine, and I hope that this misery ends. Everyone’s help will help end this suffering.

I also worked inside the hospital during the aggression period in the emergency department and I saw what no human mind could imagine. I was dealing with real remains. When I went to sleep, I suffered greatly to sleep only a little. The neighbors would come to me screaming from the nightmares I saw at night. The pain was very difficult.

One night, I lost my cousin, my aunt, his children and his wife. They were really shocked when I saw them while I was at work. It was a surprise to me. On another night, I was surprised by the arrival of one of my other relatives. He had lost 12 of them. It was a real nightmare. I collapsed at that moment. I went to work every day, not knowing if I would return or not. I only cared about helping people as much as possible.

As for the food we eat, we depend only on the work of some organizations. We go in the morning to get a small pot of food and we get it after long hours in line. On some days, food was cut off due to the theft of aid that crosses into the sector by organized parties. The price of a bag of flour reached $900. We were unable to limit it at the time. We were forced to depend on rice and animal feed. Because of the continuous closure of the crossings, we here cannot provide food daily because it is expensive.

Life here is difficult and I really hope you can help me.
