IBC Triple Negative Breast Cancer

Hi there, my name is Jessica Vaughan. I have had numerous life changing experiences happening to me and my daughter since July of 2023’.
In July of 2023’, I was in a terrible horse accident where I was faced with having to bail off of a horse that went wild at my fiancé’s parents ranch. The outcome was very bad and I was unable to walk or get to the hospital by myself. My fiancé and his parents would not take me to a hospital for 3 days following the accident. On the 3rd day following the accident, I was then taken to a nearby hospital and then followed by another hospital in the city which we were living in at the time. The hospital’s confirmed that I had a broken sacrum and the left side of my pelvis was fractured. The two ran into one another and almost caused a complete open book fracture of the hips. To avoid this, the orthopedic surgeon had to do an emergency surgery on my left hip and put two screws through my pelvis to stabilize my hips. I was in the hospital for a month and had to learn how to walk all over again. I was unable to care for my child and myself during this time and was experiencing extreme difficulty with everything. To add to things, my fiancé left me when I got put into the hospital. I also
am still experiencing pain from the accident that’s been ongoing.
I had no one to turn to and no help or support from family or friends, except for one friend. She had gone above and beyond what any friend should do. Due to the separation of my ex- fiancé and unable to care for myself, we were then relocated back to my hometown of Victoria, Tx.
I have been unable to work since the accident.
Thankfully, by the grace of God, I have managed to financially support myself through this, until an unexpected change of things took place.
In October 2023’, I was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive form of breast cancer called IBC Triple Negative. This is a very complex form of cancer. The doctors at MDA gave me 3-6 months to live, if I do not get treatment.
It was at this point, when we realized that we needed help from our community.

I am currently on a treatment plan that includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy and target therapy drugs. I am getting infusion treatments at MDAnderson in Houston, Tx. every 3weeks.
I am humbly writing this to seek help going forward.
My home is in New Braunfels, Tx , and when I realized that I couldn’t do this, it was then we made a plan to relocate back there at the end of the school year, while I fight this fight. God is my compass.
I have hospital bills that I owe from the chemotherapy treatments that I have had to have done and was removed from my ex’s insurance policy. There is a pile of medical bills that I cannot afford to pay, and they keep accumulating.
I am now just trying to pick up the pieces and move forward and save my life! I am a single mother of a 14 year old daughter, whom I have sole custody over. I am all she has, and I need to be strong and fight this fight for her and myself. It is not my time to go!
Currently, I have 5 tumors in my right breast and about 9 lymph node’s that are infected. I also have cancer in my chest as well as under my right clavicle. I have had to humble myself completely and throughout this process, I realize that family, friends and our health are all that matters in the end. I fortunately have made my friends my family now. I’ve never been the type of person to ask people for help…. But I am here today to humbly ask for your help and support through this difficult time for me and my daughter. I do not have any family for support.
The funds I receive will be used for past medical expenses from chemotherapy treatments, as well as future treatments I need to fight this. I will be undergoing a major surgery in July of a mastectomy and lymph node removal, followed by intense radiation therapy twice a day for a period of 4-6 weeks.
After the healing process of the radiation treatment, they will then have to do another surgery.
All of this combined looks to be about 2 years worth of intense treatment, if everything goes as planned.
I experience nausea and fatigue and other symptoms that are not pleasant to deal with on a daily basis and make it hard to perform daily tasks.
This will enable me to work for quite some time and I am just praying for some relief from this all. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, and God bless you.

update: I have had scans show signs of possible cancer in my chest and my lungs last month.
we are working tirelessly to fix this. Continued prayers please

update Aug. 1, 2024: I just underwent surgery… and they found 7.5 cm of cancer in my right breast as well as 19 out of 29 lymph nodes affected with cancer.

Thank you so much for everyone who has donated or messaged me or who has me in their prayers. My deepest gratitude for all of you. I cannot express how grateful I am for you.
