Talofa family and friends!!
We are so humbled to share with you a prestigious opportunity Jabez has to participate in the Football University (FBU) 6th Grade Tournament, representing the best 6th grade student athletes here in Western Washington in the coming weeks as they earn the right to represent Seattle in the National Championships to be held in Naples, FL Dec 21st, 2014.
Team Seattle secured their place in the Regional Semifinals after defeating both their opponents with convincing blowouts this past weekend;
Saturday 12/6 FBU Seattle 69 - E. Wash./N. Idaho 0 Sunday 12/7 FBU Seattle 59 - Oregon 0
In these 2 games, Jabez contributed on both sides of the ball with 2 rushing touchdowns, 1 50yd punt returned for a touchdown, over half a dozen sacks, nearly a dozen tackles, over 150 yards on the ground at runningback, and great team effort lead blocking and helping his teammates succeed on the field as well!!
The Regional Semifinals will be held in Salt Lake City this weekend 12/13-14 and then the last leg of the Road to Naples will occur next weekend 12/20-21 should our Team Seattle advance to that stage of the competition.
Jabez joined the Seattle team pretty late in their campaign and wasnt able to participate in group fundraisers to help offset some of the financial obligations including travel & lodgin in both Salt Lake City, UT and Naples, FL. Estimated costs for both legs of this tournament range from $2500-3000.
Would you prayerfully consider being a blessing in funding his efforts to embark on this amazing journey? Travel to Salt Lake City, UT will need to be secured this week Wednesday to insure he arrives by Friday for check in. Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated.
Jabez truly loves football and has worked very very hard with his regular season team, the Puget Sound Lancers, and now Team Seattle playing on Offense at Runningback, Tight End, Wide Receiver and Quarterback. On defense, he is unstoppable at Defensive End. Attached are some video clips of his performance on the field.
Off the field he is a great student and a rising leader in his classroom and school. He continues to excel in class and knows that the beginning to any successful career in sports happens in the classroom!!
We pray abundant blessings on you as you give and trust that the Lord will return to you a hundred fold all you have sown into his life. We covet your prayers for his safety, good health and safe travels during this season.
Thank you so much again,
Jabez Tinae & family
