Ibadan School for the Deaf 60th Anniversary Fund
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tasha Oriwoh. I'm creating this fundraiser on behalf of my father-in-law Mr Samuel Oriwoh (far left). He has worked as a teacher, headteacher and now board member at the Ibadan School for the Deaf for over 25 years. Since knowing him, he has shared his experience with me, which has inspired me to raise awareness for such a great cause.
This year, the school is turning 60 years old and are looking to raise the funds for:
- Renovating the boys' and girls' hostels
- New classroom doors
- 40x aluminium cased windows
- New classroom and hostel floors
- Perimeter fencing
- Painting the dining room
- New cabinets
- New executive chairs
- New rechargeable fans
- Laptops/computers
- Office chairs
- Floor tiling
- Generators
- Grinding machine engine
- New event centre/hall
I would really appreciate your support as the children are so deserving and providing a better environment for them will allow for a better tomorrow.
I am aiming on raising £10,000 for them and would hope that you join me in this pursuit.
Below are some words from the Planning Committee:

The Ibadan School for the Deaf was established by Late Chief Mrs. A.O. Oyesola (MON, JP) and her husband as co-founder in 1963 as a “Charity and Venture of Faith” with only four pupils. With the collaboration of the government of Oyo State and well-meaning people and organisations from within and outside Nigeria, the school has successfully trained thousands of hearing and speaking impaired pupils who have risen to occupy diverse important positions in Nigeria and abroad. After 60 years of service, the school is more determined than before to continue to equip people with hearing and speaking impairment to become useful citizens who will contribute to the advancement of humanity across all spheres of social existence. However, the school cannot achieve this goal by itself.
Hence, as we celebrate 60 years of service to humanity, we count on the continued support of all from every social sector. Together we can give our hearing and speaking impaired pupils a meaningful and impactful future. In this regard, we plead that you allow us to use this medium to highlight some of the pressing needs of the school with the hope that God will use you to further empower the school to do more for our ‘privileged students’. These needs and their cost implications are presented in the attached list.
We are confident that with your kind assistance, we will be able to achieve much more in the bid to give the hearing and speaking impaired a more meaningful life. Consequently, we humbly request that you consider our attached list and identify which of its items you will support us with as we celebrate our 60th Anniversary.
