My name is Ian Cameron and I am working on my Eagle Scout Project. One of the things I love to do is to help as a Student Coach for my little brother Logan's baseball team. I spend alot of time at the Hays Youth Baseball fields (HYBSA) in Buda, TX and wanted to give back to this great organization.
The bleachers need alot of repairs - there are lots of cracked, warped, and breaking or rotting boards - making it dangerous to sit on. My Eagle Project is to replace all of the wooden boards on the bleachers and then paint them with "Home" and "Away" colors in Red and Blue to match the HYBSA League colors. I hope to do this for all of the fields serving kids from 5-16 years old so there are 9 bleachers total that I will be repairing.
To get this project done before they start their Fall season, I need to raise money to fund this project by August 31, 2016. Target date for completion is September 11th. All the money raised will be used for materials and supplies for the project - lumber, bolts, paint, etc which is estimated at $2,998.97. Anything in excess will be donated to HYBSA for continued maintenance of the bleachers in years to come.
Please donate to my project. If you are interested in sponsoring a full or half bleacher, we will be providing signs to recognize you or your business to be placed on the bleacher you sponsor. All donors of $50 or more will be recognized on a sign at the fields as well. Your donation is tax deductible as well as HYBSA is a non-profit. Contact me for paperwork for your tax files.
This will mean alot to me to give back to a sport I love and help hundreds of kids and families in the Buda/Kyle TX area for years to come by providing a safe bleacher to enjoy during practice, games and tournaments as well as helping to make the ballfields beautiful. I have been in scouting since 1st grade and am so happy to give back as my Eagle Project.
