On Tuesday, February 29th, Ianna was admitted to CCMC with swelling to her heart and fluid in her lungs. She has been in critical care since and after extensive testing thanks to her wonderful medical team, she's been diagnosed with Myocarditis. Myocarditis is inflammation of the middle layer of the heart wall typically caused by a virus and is rare in children. Her heart is very weak at the moment and Ianna has a very long recovery ahead as her lungs and heart struggle to keep up. She is currently on ECMO (life support) to allow her heart and lungs to rest. Ben and Tandi are wonderful parents who have not left her side since. Because of this, they are both unable to work at this time. Ben and Tandi have been married for 10 years and love all 3 of their children more than anything in this world. Tandi worked in the Plainfield school system for 17 years and now works at NFA/gymnastics coach dedicating so much of her time to so many children. Now all of their time and dedication is spent at Ianna's bedside. All donations will go to the Carignan Family for Ianna's medical bills, food, and any unexpected costs.
