Hi, my name is Glenn; I am raising funds for our friend Ian Simpson.

Ian is a good friend who is in Thailand and needs help.

Ian had an accident and ended up in hospital for four months 3 of these; he was in an induced comer

I am raising funds for Ian because he cannot do it himself. The funds raised will be used to

pay outstanding medical expenses and physiotherapy to help Ian's

recovery. Ian is unable to work due to his extensive injuries, and his savings have already been spent on medical bills.

Ian was working and living in Thailand when covid struck. Ian lost his job but had enough

savings to sustain his way of life until one day when Ian was riding his bike to do some

errands, and it was raining quite heavily when Ian collided with another bike stationary on his side of the road. Ian suffered a fractured skull, broken eye sockets, nose and jaw. Ian spent one month in hospital from these injuries. After being released, Ian started to have

seizures. He was put on medication for this, and as a side effect of his medication, Ian’s lower intestine became blocked. As a result, Ian collapsed on 27/12/2021; Ian was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors performed emergency surgery. Ian was put into an induced coma for two months. After two months, the doctors woke Ian up, but he was not well enough. The doctors gave him a fifty-fifty chance of surviving. He was then put back into another coma for another month. Ian was moved from ICU to a medical ward; when he was finally woken from the coma, he could not remember much he even had trouble identifying his father and his memory was gone. Ian had lost all his muscle mass. He couldn't even sit up or walk and was covered in bed sores; his spine also sustained injuries. Ian’s recovery has been prolonged as he cannot afford the medical help he still needs. Ian's only financial support comes from his father, who is on a pension. Ian also receives assistance from a local Thai lady named One, who makes sure he is bathed, dressed and fed. One is doing this all as a volunteer putting her life on hold for Ian.

We would love to be able to help Ian by raising these funds for him, as we cannot do this

on our own. That is why I ‘am asking for help. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
