Ian Shubin’s Memorial

Dad,

You unexpectedly left us on January 2nd.

Growing up you were the type of father who was always present whether that be by coaching our basketball teams, or watching movies with us. You supported us in a way where we weren’t afraid to make mistakes because you were always there to pick us back up. You taught us so much about life, and we always knew we could turn to you for guidance.

You had a free spirit and that gave us a passion for life. Your humor taught us to laugh at ourselves and to never take life too seriously. You were a provider and a protector. Most importantly, you were a selfless man who sacrificed for the ones you loved.

You were our biggest influence in life, and our hero. So much of you lives in us.

You will forever be missed. We will miss talking to you for hours about life. We will miss hearing you tell us how proud you are of the men we have become. But most of all, we will miss you as we continue to grow.

Although the heartbreak of losing a father will never go away, it just evolves. There is so much to say about what a great man you are, but it’s hard to write it all down. We know that you will be with us as we go through our major milestones in life.

On behalf of Noah and Gavin, we created a GoFundMe to raise money to pay for the memorial services of their father. This will help them during an unexpected and tragic loss. We are hoping to raise these funds before the memorial service which will be on February 18th.
