Ian "Scat" Vernon, sadly passed away peacefully on the 14/11/23 by his family's side after complications following a series of cardiac arrests. A battle showing his character and of super human strength that endured 2 weeks in which he kept fighting and refusing to give up.
A South Sydney local boy who went on to play footy for the Rabbitohs, The Drummer in The Broken Watch Band, but his biggest achievement as a family man being an amazing, loyal, supportive husband to Wendy who he adored the floor she walked on. A father to Jack & Emma who are and will always be his world. A friend to all he met along the way and to many of his friends been in their lives for over a period of 50 years.
A genuine, kind, loving, hard working person who would give the shirt off his own back to help out anyone with anything at anytime. Highly regarded in the Sydney community, working for Randwick city council and some will say a local icon in The Shire and South Sydney areas - he'd agree with me here.
I hope that everyone can rally and support this touching occasion to celebrate the life of a very special man with the biggest heart who has touched so many peoples lives.
The funeral will be held on Friday the 15th of December at St Andrews Church Malabar 1pm
The Vernon family never asks for anything or anyones help but are the first family to drop everything for anyone and everyone.
Im going to provide a link below where you can all show your support.
And on behalf of them want to thank and appreciate everyone who has reached out in any way over the last couple weeks. It hasnt gone unnoticed by the Vernon family
Thankyou ❤
