Thank you to everyone who has supported so far, it truly means a lot. We initially set a £5,000 target based on early estimates. As arrangements have progressed with funeral directors in Dubai and the UK, we now understand the full cost of repatriation is higher than first expected. Ian’s insurance contribution is limited, covering approximately £1,000, leaving a significant shortfall. We have therefore updated the target to ensure all necessary arrangements can be carried out properly and respectfully. 

Just to make this completely transparent the cost to get him repatriated is around £11,000 plus the costs for the funeral. We will update the cost for the funeral in the following days.

Ian Robert Gale was one of those people you only meet once in a lifetime — a loyal friend, a loving son and brother, and someone who brought laughter and warmth wherever he went.

Tragically, Ian passed away in Dubai on the 28th/29th of April 2026. At the moment, he is still overseas while arrangements are being made to bring him home to the UK. This is an incredibly difficult time for his family, who are not only dealing with the heartbreak of losing Ian, but also the emotional and financial strain of arranging his funeral.

Anyone who knew Ian knows just how many lives he touched. He had a huge circle of friends who all have their own memories of his kindness, humour, and the way he always had your back when you needed it most.

We are setting up this fundraiser to help ease the burden on his family and giving him the send-off he truly deserves. More importantly, we want his family to be able to focus on grieving and remembering Ian, rather than worrying about the financial pressures at such a painful time.
