Ian Anthony Mitchell passed away on August 7, 2020, in San Mateo, California at age 29. He is survived by his two daughters, Isabella Iona Mitchell-Myers (age 6) and Aviana Sofia Mitchell-Meyers (age 3) both of Redwood City, CA, Roseann Mitchell, mother, Redwood City, CA and Donzella Lovell, grandmother, Bryant, AR.

Ian was a dedicated and loving father who was known for trying to spend as much quality time with his daughters as he possibly could. The child in him allowed him to connect, clown around, and play with his children in a very special way. He openly loved and adored them every minute of the day.
He was also an aspiring artist who loved to complete portraits of friends and family experimenting with different artistic media and styles. He was quite talented and impressed many with his artistic endeavors.

Ian’s second passion was his career as a Heavy Equipment Engineer. As a member of the Operating Engineers Local 3, he was often praised for his innate ability to understand and solve almost any complex problem with almost anything of a mechanical nature. He also showed that he was fearless when necessary to work on 100 ft.+ equipment booms. His ability to block out the rest of the world when working on complex machinery brought him the focus needed to drive him to find the solution.  Self-taught and gifted, his skills made him a valuable addition to any team. With so much potential his passing leaves a void for so many.

Ian’s innocent nature, sincere smile, and open and inquisitive heart endeared him both to family, extended family, and friends alike. The time he had with us here on earth was much too short and we all miss him and grieve his passing terribly. May he find the light and rest in peace. 

We are asking for help with his burial and memorial expenses. There is no life insurance or money set aside for his tragically premature passing.
Any funds that are remaining will be used to help his two young children which he so adored and loved.
