Every year growing up my father would drag me to Brooklyn to see the Dance Africa performance my Alvin Ailey. We would walk around his old stomping grounds (and my future ones), grab food, and see his old friends. As a boy I could not imagine how much I would grow to love this tradition and those hot summer days.
