For the last 20 weeks or so I've been doing something that I never even imagined I would, I've been training to run a marathon.
For those of you that know me well, you'll know that I've barely strapped on a pair of trainers since I was 17, and as far as I can remember I've never run much more than 10kms in one go before starting the training. For those of you who have seen me in the last few months you'll be stoked not to have to listen to me talking about it constantly.
After many blisters, much sweat and probably even a few tears before bedtime, the big day is fast approaching. Although I've had a few injuries during the training, and have been desperately trying to hurt myself so badly that I don't have to do it, alas currently I don't have anything seriously enough wrong with me that I can get away with pulling out.
To make the last 20 weeks of pain, (not to mention the 42kms I'll be attempting to run on Sunday and the last 15 weeks of no booze) feel worth it I've decided to raise money for the charity St. Vincent de Paul (Vinnies).
They are one of Australia's longest running charities that helps disadvantaged, the most vulnerable, at risk and homeless across the country.
I understand that the last couple years have been tough for a lot of people financially but if you do have a few bucks to spare it would be great if you could help me reach my fundraising goal.
