Yesterday I came home to my dark apartment in Oakland around 6:30pm. When I got upstairs and turned on the light I discovered a chaotic mess of my belongings strewn about. I knew this sinking feeling all too well. My old apartment was robbed two years ago at this same time of year (happy holidays). Frantically I looked around the apartment and saw my back door had been violently kicked in. My downstairs neighbor also suffered the same fate.
My camera, lenses, and flash were stolen along with my laptop and irreplaceable family items, such as the last few things I had left of my dad's. My renter's insurance won't cover more than $1,000 of my camera equipment because apparently, as I just discovered, there's a cap on "business related property." Photography is my love as well as my work.
I lost over $5,000 worth of gear and need to replace it so I can start shooting again. If you've enjoyed my photos and would like to see more, please help! Even a tiny bit goes a long way.
I'm moving to LA in 10 days and money is very tight. I have big dreams about what I'm going to do with my photography when I'm there. You can help me realize those dreams.
