For the past three years our dad has had constant doctor visits to what began with feet aches and numb fingers, and eventually led to complete immobility of his arms and legs. On November 17 2014 our dad went to the hospital for the first time because he could not move his right arm. Over the course of a couple of days he returned home only to go back to the hospital a week later.
On November the 26th our father was rushed to the hospital because he could not move neither his arms nor legs and could barely speak. Later that night he was diagnosed with Guillian Barri Syndrome(GBS). This is an autoimmune disease where the immune system affects the peripheral nervous system. Unfortuntely there is no known cure for GBS but with thereputical rehab the symptoms can be controlled. It pains us to see my father not be able to do simple tasks one may not think twice about such as brushing your teeth or sitting up in the morning. Our father is a man who always pushed himself to care for my sister and I. He would pick us up from school and make us something to eat and then continue to do work around the house, and in irony now he is the one requiring aid just to eat because of his immobility.
Being the primary income to our household we have found that medical bills are piling up and all we want is for him to get better not to be stressing out about how we are going to get things done.
We would appareciate anything that can be donated, incuding prayers because faith goes a long way. Our main idea behind this is to raise awareness about GBS and to ask you all to please take value in everyday you have because in the blink of an eye it can all change and one may not realize what we have till it's taken away from us.
Thank you and have a good day,
