Lanier's Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
As many of you know, Lanier has an Immune Deficiency. He has struggled most of his life with respiratory infections, sinus infections and severe joint pain. After seeing doctors in many fields and even traveling to Duke in North Carolina, we finally found a doctor at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital that took an interest in Lanier and diagnosed him with SCIDS, Severe Combined Immune Deficiency. She told us that in order for Lanier to live a long life, he would need a bone Marrow transplant. We were very lucky that both Ansley and Harper were perfect matches for him. He will begin this long process of getting “a new immune system” in January. During this time, Lanier, Hughie and I will spend up to 6 months in Cincinnati. My Mom will be in Louisville with our three girls, helping them to try and maintain a somewhat normal life. Hughie will be traveling back and forth from Nevada (where his business currently is) to Cincy and Louisville. Please pray for us that Lanier’s transplant is successful and that our family makes it through this difficult time.
