Seeking donations for clubhouse repair
Gunnamatta Surf Life Saving Club (www.gunnamattaslsc.com.au) is a not for profit organisation that has been serving the community for 48 years (founded July 1966). Gunnamatta is considered one of the most dangerous surf beaches in Australia, and we are a small group of just 98 volunteer patrolling members that provide lifesaving services.
Since 2002 our volunteer life savers have rescued 1,032 swimmers in difficulty. Whilst we have always been financially solid, our clubhouse recently suffered significant damage to a load bearing external wall and part of the roof fell in.
Whilst we have managed to secure some funding from government grants, the extent of the damage means that we have a $50,000 shortfall to complete the repairs. Funding and donations are critical to the operational and financial sustainability of Gunnamatta SLSC and are required to cover maintenance and replacement of life saving equipment (including the clubhouse, inflatable rescue boats, motors, rescue boards, etc).
Subsequently, we are seeking your help to support the Club in its fundraising efforts to raise $50,000, either via a donation and/or through spreading the word amongst family, friends and colleagues.
We are grateful for any support – thank you.
