Hello friends and family!
My husband and I need your help. Normally this isn't something we'd feel comfortable doing, but with Josh stationed in Japan money is kind of tight. In Braydens best interest, we decided to put our egos aside and give this a shot, here's what's going on:
The DOC Band is a medical device generically known as a cranial orthosis. A cranial orthosis is used to treat a medical condition known as deformational plagiocephaly (abnormal head shape in infants). The band is intended to apply pressure to the prominent regions of an infant's cranium and improve cranial symmetry and/or shape.
Braydens type of plagiocephaly is called brachycephaly; the back of his head is very flat and is causing his skull to bulge out above his ears. If this isn't treated, it's possible that glasses, helmets and hats won't fit properly in the future. His condition is severe but not severe enough for surgery and of course, insurance won't help cover the Band unless it's post-operative.
Therefore, we are asking from the bottom of our hearts
for your support with funding Brayden's Band. Any little bit will help and we will be forever grateful for every single contribution.
If you have any questions, concerns, or anything at all, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you so much in advance,
Holly and Josh
