I-225 Wall Mural Fund
Donation protected
For the thousands who travel north on S. Yosemite Street or who exit the Yosemite ramp from Interstate I-225, the current entrance to southeast Denver, adjoining Cherry Creek 3 HOA, is rather bland and boring. It's just some rock and a blank CDOT sound barrier walk.
This summer, a more welcoming look is expected to greet visitors and residents. Denver District 4 City Councilperson Kendra Black, Cherry Creek 3 and supportive local businesses plan to give an exciting new look to the entrance way.
Noted Denver artist and muralist Delton Demarest (http://www.deltondemarestarts.com/) has volunteered to paint the new "Welcome to Denver" mural. Although Delton is not getting compensated for the project, we need to raise funds to help pay for his paints and for plants for a proposed native/xeric garden that will accompany the mural.
