My husband, Jimmy Dominguez, is the sole provider of our family. Together we are raising three beautiful children. Chezni (11 years), Kason (6 years), and Kaleb (19 months). Over the past week, Jimmy began complaining of severe headaches. Initially, we weren’t too worried but after realizing that the pain was steadily progressing, and not getting any better we became concerned for his health. On Sunday, June 24th, I started noticing that he was having problems moving his leg. Then, he began complaining throughout the day that he was losing feeling in his arm off and on. Concerned, but hoping it would pass, we went to bed that night and the next morning Jimmy left for work. Call it a mother or wife’s intuition, I just knew something wasn’t quite right. I urged Jimmy not to go into work, and go to the doctor instead. My husband, being a strong 29-year-old young man, of course said no. After considering our finances, he reminded me that we are currently uninsured and any extra bills were just unfeasible. Jimmy is such a hard worker and provides the kids and I with everything we need. He understood the importance of showing up to work every day, and just didn’t “have time” to be sick. Unfortunately, the symptoms progressed once he arrived and began working. He began bumping into things and feeling lethargic. Finally, he had a co-worker drive him home and we rushed him to the hospital in Longview, Texas. After a full body CT Scan, the ER doctors confirmed that Jimmy had three tumors. The doctors were confidant that it was testicular cancer, and that the affected testicle had to be removed immediately. A biopsy was performed on the testicle, and after three exhausting, chaotic days we received confirmation that it was testicular cancer. We were devastated when we learned this news. The family was praying things wouldn’t get worse, but we were absolutely heartbroken when we were informed that he is in the last stages of the cancer, and the tumor had metastasized to Jimmy’s right lung and brain. The neurologist recommended that the tumor be removed prior to receiving chemotherapy to prevent bleeding of the brain. On Sunday, July 1st, Jimmy had brain surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery was successful, all praises to God and the immaculate surgeon that operated on him. We are so blessed and thankful that the tumor was able to be removed entirely and without complication. In the days to come, Jimmy will be in ICU recovering and regaining his strength for the months chemotherapy ahead of him. We are asking our family, friends, and community to help us save Jimmy's life. The chemotherapy treatments are a financial burden we simply cannot afford. The oncologist wants to attack this cancer aggressively, and begin chemo treatments within the next two weeks. As I stated previously, Jimmy does not have health insurance and is the sole provider for our family. This is a nightmare to say the least, and we want to fight this cancer with all that we have. ANY amount that you can give will help us financially, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Moreover, we would also love if you kept Jimmy and our family in your prayers. We believe that our God works miracles, and we have faith that we will see Him work a miracle through Jimmy’s battle with cancer. God Bless!
Thank you,
Kristen, Chezni, Kason, and Kaleb Dominguez

Atentamente: Kristen Hurst Dominguez
