I Would Die For You (Just Not Yet)

Hello! We are Freya and Leila, emerging artists and theatre makers, and we are writing a play about vampires! From a young age we fantasized about being bitten by a vampire, and then turning into a vampire. Unfortunately we are now respectively 24 and 25 and are still human, and still aging, and still having at least one existential crisis per day. So we have written our own play where we star as vampires. We are vampires at last! However, we can only be vampires with your money. Otherwise what do we wear, where will we sleep, whose blood will we drink. Thankyou. Kisses.

‘I Would Die For You (Just Not Yet)’ is a highly physical, tragicomedy play- set in the quiet hours of the night, where you aren't expected to live up to anything or anyone.

 

We have been fortunate enough to have acquired, in- kind the Bluestone Church Arts Space for the Melbourne Fringe Festival in October 2022. This will be the first professional debut of our work, and we are super excited to share it with Australian audiences and take it overseas in the future.

 

Making art in Australia has always been tough, but the past couple of years have been extremely challenging. Honestly, we both felt quite purposeless during this time and yearned to create and tell stories that brought back connection, silliness and fun. This is how ‘I Would Die For You (Just Not Yet)’ was developed.

 

This is our first time. We forgot about money and budget, and live in a fantasy world. For our play to be a massive success we need some HELP/assistance. Being struggling artists we are broke. Please help, SOS, so we can fund this baby.
