A Photographer's Fight for Sight | Amanda Stewart
Donation protected
Friends, family, and photography community, one of our own is in great need right now.
Amanda Stewart went in for corrective eye surgery to finally do something for herself.
Devastatingly, the day before Thanksgiving, 2 days post-procedure, Amanda woke up blind and with a rare post-op infection in her right eye.
One week later, doctors and her cornea specialist are still unsure if or when she will regain vision. The only thing they can say is that they need to focus on "trying to save her eye." The situation is not only heartbreaking as photography is Amandas passion, but it is also financially devastating to this small business owner and mother of three. Please help the Stewart family by donating whatever you can afford. The funds collected will go to keeping Amanda's business and studio temporarily afloat and to cover added expenses of keeping the household running while Amanda is in recovery- childcare, housekeeping, food, and medical necessities. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
Below is the the official statement from her associates to her client base:
It comes with a heavy heart that we make this post. Amanda Dion Stewart went in to fulfill her dream of having laser eye surgery to be rid of the thick corrective lenses she has worn for most of her life. Two days after the surgery, she developed a very rare infection that has since left her blind in and fighting to save her right eye. While she is going through the lengthy process of treatment and, hopefully, recovery, we will not be taking on any new bookings. Any currently booked sessions or those awaiting their products after editing will be handled by Amanda’s associates as well as other talented local photographers who have graciously volunteered their services. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support of Amanda in these trying times and look forward to the day when we can once again experience her passion through her art.
