I Will Find A Way

This is the worst thing to have to go through before the holidays for more reasons than one.  December of 2016 we received the painful news that our father was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. This is not what anyone expected when my parents retired and moved down to Puerto Rico. They had different plans....but all of them were cut short. It was my father's decision to fight this with all that he had and we were going to fight with him.  It hasn't been easy, nobody said it would. Even though I'm all the way in New York and they are in Puerto Rico I watched the toll it took on my father's light and soul and I watched my mother's strength fall apart day by day. You can only imagine how difficult this has been on those of us that just want to be there and hold them during this heart shattering time. 
My father began a higher dose of chemo a few weeks ago along with radiation. His WBC is dangerously low ... ..so much he required 3 blood transfusions. He stopped eating, he stopped drinking. My mother had no other choice but to bring him back to the hospital. She was told today that the treatment wasn't doing anything to the cancer and in fact it continued to grow. Nobody wants to hear that all the pain and all the suffering was for nothing.  
I know this is the holidays and I know we all have bills to pay and I hate that I have to ask for anyone's help but we need your help! We need to get down there. We need to be by their side. Every second that goes by is torturing me. Please if you can help even if it's just $1.00. I completely understand if you can't.
