My world got flipped upside down on my Birthday this April when I started having chest pain and went to the ER to be evaluated. While in the ER they completed a CT scan and found a mass to my chest. I followed up with my primary doctor and a PET scan was ordered- which showed the mass was cancerous.

May 8th I met with the CT surgeon - he was 98% positive this was a cancer called Thymoma and stated that the PET scan only showed this one area of concern. The plan set included: biopsy to confirm diagnosis, MRI of Brain (due to frequent headaches) and then surgery to remove the mass.

May 22nd a Brain MRI was completed.

May 28th Biopsy of the mass was completed.

June 2nd (less than 24 hours before my scheduled surgery to remove the mass in my chest) I received shocking news from the CT surgeon- as he called to inform me that the biopsy showed that I do NOT have Thymoma. Instead I had a form of Lymphoma, a rare type of cancer that forms in the thymus gland, which is located in the upper chest and plays a role in the immune system. that my surgery was cancelled, and I was referred to a lymphoma specialist.

June 3rd- Thankfully the Lymphoma doctor was able to see me today. A quick summary: the cancer I have is Primary Mediastinal Large B-cell Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
I will be getting an Echo on Friday (as the chemotherapy can cause some heart problems so this will be monitored throughout the treatment plan), a Port placed on June 12th and hope to begin Chemotherapy the following Monday (still waiting confirmation on this start date).
At this time, the treatment plan is to complete 6 cycles of chemotherapy (each cycle is 21 days). Each cycle consists of me traveling to Louisville and staying to receive 5 days of chemotherapy. I will also be on medications at home (for the entire 6 cycles) to help prevent infections. In addition to the chemotherapy, I will have to complete lab work twice a week, have many follow up appointments with the doctor, and some further testing to monitor for complications from the chemotherapy as well as response to the chemotherapy.
I am still trying to process this information (as I was completely not expecting a change in my diagnosis and treatment plan).

As many of you know, I am a single Mom of 4 beautiful kids (3 boys and 1 girl). I am scared and worried about how this will all work for my family. Thinking about being away from my kids during the chemotherapy treatments is devastating. I am trusting that God has a plan and that truth brings me comfort and strength as I face this battle.

I have not been able to work very much since being sick and I have been off work since the biopsy. The doctor informed me that I will NOT be able to work during this treatment period (as of now I am expecting around 5-6 months of treatment). I hope that through this GoFundMe I will be able to continue to provide for my family. I know the journey will be tough and my family and I are going to need support, prayers and encouragement along the way. It is hard for me to ask for help, and I know times are hard for everyone. If you can donate I would Greatly Appreciate your support. I also appreciate all the prayers, messages and support- it truly means a lot to me and my family.

Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.
