About the Film
The story of I Will Become Me follows Mia, a high school senior, who comes out to her very religious mother, best friend Julie, and small-town community. With the help of a newfound friendship in Alex, Mia learns to accept herself when others do not, and that coming out is both one of the hardest things you can do to yourself, and also one of the greatest.

I Will Become Me Team
The I Will Become Me team are a diverse group of filmmakers that have come together to make this film because we all either identify or know someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community. This story is not intended to shame those with religious beliefs or play into the gay stereotypes/best friend tropes. We hope to create a film that brings a more natural, realistic gay representation into the mainstream.
Where the Money Will Go
The money we hope to raise will cover pre and post production costs such as location permits, filming equipment, catering, production design and etc. If you are a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and wish to see more representation of this group in the media AND/OR you are a supporter of young emerging diverse filmmakers please support our film by donating.
