I was robbed in the name of my father

By now every one knows that my Dad Randy had passed away very suddenly and it was and still is very hard to come to terms with this. I was left a little bit of money from his insurance policy. Long story short is i went and had a very close friend someone who has like a brother to me go and cash the check for me. Well he then told me i had to wait for it to clear and i did because i trusted him because that's who i am. Anyway it's been a few weeks now and i havenot received a dime. He has told me to get the f out of his house. Hung up on my mother when she called him at work. Will not take my phone calls or messages.i don't know what happened or if i ever will find out but what hurts the most is the hurt from the betrayal by someone you have known for almost three decades. A person you thought you could trust.i still try and find the good in everyone. This money could have changed everything for me for the better. But things happen for a reason and the reasons are trying to help me be a better person. So anyone that can help me i would be very grateful and God Bless
