My name is Beau Walker, After 3 years off work with a back injury (5 operations) and recovery from spinal fusion. I finally got the go ahead to get back to work and started my new job shortly after. This was exciting for me because I could finally get some more normality if my life. 

After a few weeks I started to feel drained and less energy. I developed blood blisters in my mouth so decided to go to the hospital and get it checked out.

After some blood tests, the doctor returned and told me I had acute leukaemia and needed treatment straight away. I’m in hospital with daily chemo for 4-5 weeks and then 30 days of daily trips for chemo from home.
The entire treatment is expected to be 2 years.

I still have another 6 months to go in treatment and with help I’m not sure I can keep my possessions and roof over our heads.

I’m not looking to get rich but with 2 young kids and today’s living expenses, A single income isn’t enough and I can’t work much for obvious reasons. When I am at work I often do so feeling sick and with killer headaches.

I don’t expect all my bills to be paid or gourmet dinners. Just want my kids and family to not suffer financially while I quickly beat cancer and return to work. I feel ashamed asking but it pains me that my kids will go without because of something they/we have no control over.

After recovering I plan to raise money and awareness for The Leukaemia Foundation to try to pay it forward.
