I want to support Macmillan because they helped me…

In August this year I had to have bowel resection surgery. Symptoms that I thought were linked to the delights of perimenopause and acid reflux were actually because I had Stage 2 bowel cancer. Something at the back of my mind made me get checked by my GP, and boy am I glad I did.

A few weeks after my operation I received the amazing news that the cancer hadn’t spread and that I don’t need to have any further treatment. To say I feel lucky is an understatement.

My recovery has been slow, I was re-admitted to hospital shortly after my operation when the bowel join leaked slightly and I have been shocked by just how tired even the smallest tasks have made me.

So I’m taking on this Macmillan challenge - 25 days of festive fitness - because I want to do something positive for others whilst I continue my recovery from my surgery. My daily fitness challenges will be gentle but they’ll help me to feel more like myself. If you’d like to come for a walk with me one day let me know. I’d love any support I can get.
