Honoring Houston Cain: A Life of Strength and Heart
Donation protected
My dad always tried his hardest to give me and my twin brother the life he never had. Sadly, our father, Houston Derand Cain, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. Malik and I turned 21, last August 24, 2024 and we have lived with our dad for the last 4 years. Dad was a proud native of Durham, NC, he was 61 years old (born July 3, 1963). He worked tirelessly as a solid waste collector for the City of Durham for 15 years, he also ran his own dump truck business for a few years. Outside of work, he was an avid fisherman, a talented chef, loved collecting antiques and old treasures, and if you knew him, you knew not to call when he was watching Gunsmoke reruns.
As we face the unexpected loss of such a strong, hardworking, and dearly loved man, my brother and I are asking for help. Any donation, no matter the size, would be deeply appreciated to assist with memorial expenses and to help us honor him the way he deserves. Your support means the world to us during this incredibly difficult time. Our Dad is survived by our mom, Tonya Hall, his mother, Iris Bryant Cain, his baby sister, Tasha Cain and a host of relatives and friends. May God bless and keep you! Kenan and Malik Cain.
