I want safety and care for my family.

If it were up to me, I could never have imagined what is happening to us. I am here because I believe in humanity and compassion.

I am Salah Alsalout, the father of a beautiful daughter named Bana, who has endured fear, flight, and displacement. Can you even imagine what that looks like? They are living through a terrifying war for which they bear no blame. Yet, the war in Gaza has stolen their beauty, their childhood, and burdened them with worries far beyond their years. They even search for water as if they’ve aged decades.

My wife Nidaa, always determined to succeed and my first source of inspiration and strength, has suffered immensely in this war. She has lost her passion for everything, even for her own treatment. She requires a specific kind of treatment for her foot, and due to the lack of this treatment, she endures severe pain, exhaustion, and fatigue. What crime did she commit to deserve this?

We once lived in peace despite the hardships, but in just a few seconds, we lost the work of a lifetime.
We fought and rebuilt ourselves from nothing, until God blessed us, but I never imagined that our struggle and hard work would vanish, never to return. Our home, with all its beauty and warm memories, is buried under the rubble. I mourn only the memories. My home.

My workplace was the center of my life, my second home, and my source of livelihood, the product of years of toil. It has been wiped out, leaving me truly without work. The loss of my private business has been overwhelming, not just for me, but for my entire team—we lost everything we owned.

As for me, I won't speak of myself because everything that has happened brings me sorrow and pain.
But to you, people of compassion, I place my hopes in you to save my family. My family and I are not safe from this war. I pray to God that you can help us escape this place of death, so that we might survive what remains of us. Please help us leave Gaza—the cost of leaving is $5,000 per person. Help us live a dignified life. My family is the most precious thing in my life, and I thank every donor for their humanity.
