I want my Brain back!!!

Can you imagine being confined to your house most of the time because your brain can’t process normal stimuli? Hearing people talking, cars going by, doors closing, and movement all around you can make your brain shut down -and it feels like fingernails scratching on a chalkboard times 1,000. That is what life is like for our adult daughter.

Two years ago, she attended a Plasticity Brain Clinic in Florida for a week which helped tremendously!! She could get her thoughts out and talk again!

But a few months ago, she hit her head again, resulting in another concussion. This concussion has impaired her thought and speaking ability again. When she tries to explain something or carry on a conversation, her brain tries but doesn't always have access to the right words or thoughts. Forming sentences can take a lot of energy. It's very frustrating and debilitating.

Because she is isolated most of the time, we want to give her the chance to live a more normal life. We found a Plasticity Clinic in Denver now, so Taffy is driving her

to Colorado at the end of September. (Flying would be much easier, but the sensory overload walking into the airport would be unbearable.) The cost for this one week of therapy is $8,500.
