From Abuse to the Streets—Help Me Find Justice
My name is Elham. After 20 months in an abusive relationship built on lies, harassment, and manipulation, I stood up for myself. The night I finally tried to protect my rights, I was forced out of the house by police at 2 a.m., with only $37 in my pocket and nowhere safe to go.
My Story:
For almost two years, I lived under false promises from a partner who claimed he was divorcing. What I got instead was harassment, abuse, and betrayal. I was isolated, abandoned, and controlled, until one night it ended with me standing outside at 2 a.m., alone, with no home, no family to turn to, and no support.
On top of losing my home and stability, I now face accusations of domestic violence—a painful twist after surviving abuse myself.
Why I Need Help:
• Legal fees: Just to start my case, the lawyer fees are $7,500 + HST, not including trial costs.
• No stable housing: I am trying to survive day by day without a safe place to call home.
• No family or close friends: I am truly on my own in this fight.
• No government support: I was denied legal aid because of assets I can’t even use to survive.
I am standing here with nothing but the hope that people who believe in fairness and compassion will help me.
How Your Help Will Change My Life:
Every dollar will go directly toward:
• Hiring a lawyer to defend me and bring my case to trial.
• Covering immediate legal fees and court costs.
• Taking one step closer to rebuilding my safety and stability.
Closing Appeal:
I survived the abuse, but I can’t survive the legal system without help. If you can donate—even the smallest amount—you will be helping me fight back, find safety, and show that abuse survivors deserve to be heard and protected.
Thank you for reading my story and for standing with me in my most difficult time.
