I’m asking for help as I continue a legal fight here in Indiantown, Florida. I moved here in 2019, and in the years since, I have also endured deep personal loss with the passing of my husband in 2023 and my mother in 2026. In the middle of that grief, I filed an appeal related to a development decision made by the village’s then Director of the Development Review Committee. After I filed, the developer’s attorney demanded that I withdraw my appeal or face a lawsuit. When I refused, they sued to block the Planning, Zoning, and Appeals Board from hearing it, and a judge stayed the hearing. The village later issued a written review that misunderstood my appeal and ruled against it. I still have the right to appeal that review, and I expect the developer may sue again.
This matters deeply to me because I believe the process that was used took away citizens’ rights to speak out and allowed decisions to move forward without proper review. I am trying to stand up for the principle that everyone, including developers and village government, must follow the rules. So far, every step has come out of my own pocket. Donations will help me cover legal costs and related expenses so I can continue pursuing the appeal and be prepared to respond if another lawsuit is filed. If you are able to help, please consider supporting me and standing with me for fairness, accountability, and the voices of Indiantown residents. Help Indiantown stay Indiantown.
