My name is Ricardo, I'm 49 years old, and I'm diabetic. I live in Largo, Florida, but I'm originally from Argentina. Three and a half years ago, I lost my left foot below the knee to an infection, and I've been using a prosthetic leg since then. About 3 months ago, a wound opened on the plant of my right foot. I was taking care of it at home, but eventually, I had to go to the hospital. That was February 2nd, and I haven't been back home since then. I had to have a 6-week course of antibiotics for an infection on the bones of the arch of my foot. The foot healed, but during the time in the hospital, I got pneumonia and an intestinal infection, prolonging my stay. The arch of my foot is broken due to the uneven use of my legs. I won't be able to put weight on it anymore other than the minimal necessary with a prosthetic boot, and I'll be mostly wheelchair-bound. After the hospital, I was transferred to a physical rehabilitation facility where I've been working on gaining strength and getting the prosthetic boot that I will have to be using from now on. Normally, I work at home as an over-the-phone Spanish interpreter, but now I've been out of work for 2 months, and it wiped out my savings. Plus, I have at least one more month of physical rehab before I can come back home to work. I need your help. I've asked for your help before here. I am never too proud to ask for help, but asking for money makes me uncomfortable. My medical expenses are mostly covered by my insurance, but I need to cover my rent and other expenses for the next 2 months. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hace tres años y medio, perdí el pie izquierdo por debajo de la rodilla debido a una infección, y desde entonces uso una prótesis. Hace unos tres meses, se me abrió una herida en la planta del pie derecho. Me la estaba curando en casa, pero finalmente tuve que ir al hospital. Eso fue el 2 de Febrero y no he vuelto a casa desde entonces. Tuve que estar en un tratamiento con antibióticos durante seis semanas por una infección en los huesos del arco del pie. El pie sanó, pero durante la hospitalización, contraje neumonía y una infección intestinal, lo que prolongó mi estancia. El arco de mi pie está roto debido al uso desigual de las piernas. Ya no podré apoyarlo más que lo mínimo necesario con una bota ortopédica y estaré prácticamente en silla de ruedas permanentemente. Después del hospital, me trasladaron a un centro de rehabilitación física donde he estado trabajando para ganar fuerza y conseguir la bota protésica que tendré que usar de ahora en adelante. Normalmente, trabajo desde casa como intérprete telefónico de español, pero ahora llevo dos meses sin trabajo y me he quedado sin ahorros. Además, me queda al menos un mes de rehabilitación física antes de poder volver a casa a trabajar. Necesito su ayuda. Ya les he pedido ayuda aquí. Nunca he sido demasiado orgulloso para pedir ayuda, pero pedir dinero me incomoda. Mis gastos médicos están cubiertos en su mayoría por mi seguro, pero necesito cubrir la renta y otros gastos de los próximos dos meses. Cualquier ayuda será muy apreciada. Gracias.
