Hi.My name is Ryoko.I am Japanese living in Vientiane since 2012 and taking care of temple cats.Now I go 4temples and take care of 100 of temple cats/dogs with monks,and also 50cats at my home.

I spayed/neutered all of them, but sadly temple is the place where people abandon kittens.When small kittens are brought to the temple,I rescue them and take care of them until they are vaccinated,then I look for homes.But now there are 6 FELV cats and they can’t find homes because of the disease.FELV is very contagious and they can’t live in the temple and I also don’t have an isolation space for them.

Now they are at the shelter in Vientiane but they can’t stay there anymore because the shelter is closing.

That’s why I need to build a place for them.

Now they are very healthy without any symptoms so euthanasia is not a choice.

I just want them to enjoy their short lives.

The monthly cost of my activity is about 2000$~2500$.

Food/cat liter is 800$,the rest is medical bills.

It is extremely difficult to find the money to create new spaces for FELV cats by myself.

I want to create a place where they can live safely and happily until their final moments.

The shelter construction is progressing.

All that’s left to do is hang netting outside to prevent escapes and install a catwalk inside.

Now cats are at clinic waiting for the shelter to be completed.
