Meet Taj – a bright, energetic 4-year-old from Lake Cathie who loves playing footy and exploring the world around him. Taj was born with a serious heart condition called an atrial septal defect – a large hole in his heart. After years of monitoring, doctors have now confirmed that Taj needs open-heart surgery to repair the defect.
When Taj learned about his upcoming surgery, he said something that melted our hearts:
“I need surgery because I have a broken heart.”
This simple, innocent statement shows just how brave and resilient he is.
Taj’s surgery is scheduled for Mid March 2026 at Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney. This will be a major operation, and Taj will need time to recover under specialist care. His parents, Emily and Flynn, will be by his side every step of the way – but this means they must temporarily relocate to Sydney for several weeks. They also have a 10-month-old baby, Sonny, and during this time, they won’t be able to work, creating a significant financial strain.
The costs of accommodation, travel, and living expenses while supporting Taj through surgery and recovery are overwhelming for the family. That’s why we’re reaching out to our community for help. Every contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference and allow Emily and Flynn to focus on what matters most – Taj’s health and recovery.
Taj is a little boy with a big heart – literally – and with your support, we can help him get the care he needs to live a happy, healthy life.
Please donate today and share this page with your friends and family. Your kindness will help ease the burden and give Taj the best chance for a full recovery.
Thank you for your generosity and for being part of Taj’s journey.
