I need some help with Raquel...my car :)

Hi friends and family,

It's me, Akisha! I know I tend to disappear but I am doing well. I just live on the other side of the world now still in Cape Town, South Africa. And I am in my final year of my PhD. I am writing it up (even after I am writing this Go Fund Me request) and will hand it in at the end of the year.

I am sending this request because since I am writing full-time I haven't been able to get a steady job yet so I can focus on finishing. But it is right in the middle of this year that my car (her name is Raquel after a character in a Federico Garcia Lorca's play) decided to brake down on me.

I use her to get around town for errands. I do my volunteer work in community centers and churches around town with her. So she helps me do all the work I need to do. And in the rare moments, I can get some fresh air a bit further out of town, so I really appreciate how she can balance me and make sure my mental health is stable while writing this dissertation.

I don't make many requests so even asking like this is quite hard but I'll do it because I know the ends justify the means.

Please could you consider donating even a small amount to help Raquel get better and functioning again?
