Hey everyone, My name is Akirah.

I’ve been an artist for 16 years now. When I started making music at high school I never expected it to take me this far. It’s taken me around the world, given me some of the best moments of my life, and connected me with people I’ll never forget. It's had it's rough moments, and it definitely hasn’t been easy, but I’m grateful for every part of it.

As some of you may know. Back in March I applied for my USA O-1 artist visa. Unfortunately due to reasons outside of my control. It was denied. I’m not going to lie, it really broke me for a bit. After putting so many years into this career, it was hard to accept. I was looking forward to touring the USA, meeting so many of you. I know a lot of you were excited to finally be able to see me play live.

Music has always taught me to keep going, even when things don’t go the way I hoped. An with your messages/comments of encouragement to try again. It's giving me the confidence to re apply for the visa.

So with that comes making a lot of money again. As its quiet expensive. Being an independent artist music is my main income. We don't have any shows planned until October in Europe because we presumed to be touring the USA over the summer. With zero show money to help and music royalties only covering rent and bills for a month. Generating the funds for the visa from that alone isn't possible.

I will be selling dubs again to help build the funds. Which you can find the links to on my social media. However last time a lot of you requested kindly to donate. So I've decided that I’m setting up a GoFundMe to help cover the visa, legal, filing, and related costs.

Getting this visa is pretty important to me as touring the USA has been something I've wanted to do for sometime now. Having something stable whilst doing work that I'm extremely passionate for as a career would be a dream. This moment in life really means a lot to me as I've been a dedicated music artist for nearly half of my life.
