My husband Ben and I met at an open mic night. He was on stage when I walked in, and I knew from the moment I saw him on stage that he was my soulmate. He proposed to me on that same stage in the middle of one of our sets together We have traveled to 45 of the lower 48 states in our four and a half short years together, having so many wonderful camping experiences in the most beautiful places our country has to offer.

We were in a terrible car accident on August 16, 2020 in the wilderness of Montana on a trip where we were visiting many of the national parks out west. I was asleep in the back when we tumbled about 405 feet into a ravine. He was ejected from the vehicle and did not survive. It’s a miracle I’m still alive. I woke up at the bottom of the ravine upside down inside the car and I couldn’t find him anywhere. I then managed to climb back up the cliff and call for help. We were so deep in the mountains, the helicopter rescuers were not able to arrive until about an hour later.

I’m still unable to work nine months later due to PTSD and trying my hardest to work from home to maintain the bills in order to keep my home. I just can’t imagine the home I have worked so hard to build. I’m so humbled and appreciative for every little bit of help. Thank you.
