Help needed to pay January rent and insurance

Donation protected
My name is Keith, and this holiday season and with my 55th birthday coming up in ten days, I was hit with an unexpected financial crisis: the money that was expected for paying January rent and health insurance is not coming. I am disabled and am fighting cancer while dealing with long-term COVID issues but am unable to collect Social Security Disability due to a long-standing tax issue.

As a result, some friends have been assisting me while the tax issue is worked through. Unfortunately, they had a family emergency that required them to cover a large unexpected expense that has pre-empted the support they usually offer me. They expect to overcome their hurdle and rebuild finances in January so that things will be back to normal for February but until then, I need to ensure my rent and health insurance are paid. To that end, I am looking for assistance.

Don't you work?
Due to my cancer, I am unable to work. I have stage 4 cancer with tumors in my spine, chest and legs. Additionally, prior infections with COVID have left me with lasting debilitating issues with my lungs, heart and kidneys.

How will this help you?
I could expound on the issues of how the U.S. government and healthcare system fails us (and especially the disabled) when we are in need but I think that's apparent to most. Instead, I want to address what I require help with, which is to ensure my rent and health insurance continue uninterrupted in January so that I and my cats (Misaki and Miyu) do not lose our apartment nor to offer my insurance an opportunity to alter my coverage. To do that, I need to raise $1450 for rent by January 1st, 2024, and $565 for my health insurance premium by January 18, 2024.

Do you have other bills to worry about as well?
Currently, I have enough to cover a reasonable amount of groceries, cat food, and my Internet/phone but those are very small expenses. My day-to-day needs are very modest so I only need help with rent and insurance.

How will the funds be used?
Any funds raised will go directly to those two items, beginning with rent and then the insurance premium. My apartment complex has immediate late fees beginning the third day of late rent, and eviction begins the seventh day so paying in full right away is the best to hope for. After that, any funds go to the insurance. If there are any funds beyond that, they will be held just to try and build some relief against anything else unexpected. The friends who have been assisting me assure me that things will be back on track by February and I believe them but this was unexpected for them as well so I will update this if anything changes.

Thank you for reading this far, for your understanding, and for any help you might provide, even if it is just sharing this further.
