I had to take my baby Dan to the ER vet this past Sunday, as he kept trying to throw something up. X-rays couldn't fully see the ribbon, so then he had to have an ultrasound which showed the ribbon had already started entering his intestines.
I had to borrow money to get him in soon enough to remove the ribbon before it created a serious blockage or other complications. He had surgery Monday night and is currently spending another night at the vet due to having a fever. The $2,500 would go into paying off the medical costs for the surgery ($1,500), X-rays ($240), ultrasound ($550), and any extra would go into any other costs that could come up, including special food and medicine.
The costs are also extra distressing at the moment since it happened in the middle of me trying to save up to move.
Update: Im very worried, as he's had a fever for 2 days following his surgery. I wont know if he will need to stay longer until later on today and I dont know how much it will cost if has to stay another night.
Update 2: He was getting stronger, starting to eat, and show a bigger appetite. Currently at the vet because his incision started leaking pus and he has a high fever. Not sure how much it will cost
