Hey there! I'm Chris, and I'm a Voice Actor, Theatrical Director, and also work in many other facets of the Fine Arts in Houston. Right before I left LA to move back home to Houston, my car was totaled. For the past four months, I’ve been navigating Houston with no car, while trying to stay as busily employed in my career as possible. This has meant getting to and from multiple studios all over the city, taking meetings all over the city, and having to get back-and-forth to various administrative positions with a Fine Arts Company who has several locations around town. Lyft-ing everywhere, or renting cars on apps like Turo, is super-expensive, and actually ends up costing more than car payments with all the getting-around I need to do.

Houston is a city, much like L.A., where if you don't have a car, unless you're strictly working from home, you're either not going to get around, or you're going to spend a mint doing it. (Our Metro/Public Transportation system is, unfortunately, not up to serving a city of our size and scope)

The car(s) I'm looking at are very modest. These are not "forever cars". These are Pre-Owned cars, in decent shape, that will get me around while I rebuild my income, and save for a forever car down the line. Most of them are in the $6k-$8k rangy, price-wise.

Again, this is to get around to studios for VO work (most of which, yes, these days, -is- outside the home again), and to meetings (of which there are tons in the world of live theatre) with Artistic Directors, Designers, Choreographers, etc., and then, of course, there are auditions, rehearsals, and performances to attend.

Bottom line: I am in great need of a car. And monetarily speaking? Well, of course moving back from L.A. was a big expenditure, and the way things have shaken out so far, once I pay rent, electric, phone, and groceries, I just have not had enough money cobbled together to put a sufficient down payment on a car. With the money I'm asking for, I could put down a very sizeable down payment and have manageable monthly payments from then on.

I know these are tough times for so many, and people all over the world have all kinds of needs, so let me just be clear in saying that I know a person reaching out for assistance getting a car may not seem terribly urgent or dire, and compared to certain other situations, it's not. But living in a city like Houston, and being in the line of work I'm in, with the multiple jobs I have, a car is absolutely a necessity.
