I'm gonna spare you all the details of the sob story. Basically I have been hit hard like a lot of people but I don't have family fortune or luck on my side. Thankfully I do have a good social network and resourcefulness.

I have been having a heck of a time getting a job like everyone else, but made worse by lack of ability to stand for 8 hours because that's a required thing for many jobs for some reason (even though Europe does fine with their cashiers sitting). So the main way I had been making money was doing Walmart Spark, and that was going good for awhile, until the fact I have a newer car with bad design reared its ugly head. My Honda fit sport needs a new engine and it will cost about 2200. Given that, I am instead just going to use about 2000 and get a new old car.

I have been looking for jobs nearby but I still need a place to live. In the past I have just lived in my car (which I was perfectly happy with). If I could theoretically just get a place to live than I wouldn't need a car, as Athens has amazing public transportation. But getting HUD is hard and income-based apartments are hard to find and often have long waitlists. So that is my reasoning behind NEEDING a car.

I am going to get the car off Facebook Marketplace and get an old honda or toyota. Those tend to still be perfectly drivable even at 200,000 miles, so you can often find ones that are $1500-2000 with few problems.

If you have other ways to help, I would be happy with those as well, such as if you can help me get a job in the Athens area, or know of other housing solutions.

Thankfully I have some other kind people willing to lend me some money, so even if I only get like $500 from this, I should be good. I just made it $1500 in case this takes off, so I could avoid borrowing large amounts from a couple of people. It would be ideal if many people donated small amounts.
