I Met All My Friends On Dating Apps: Summer Tour

Donation protected
J likes bees, ice cream and the colour green. And, tonight she has a date. Join her while she gets ready, as she shares stories of entering the world of online dating while happily married in an effort to understand if polyamorous is something that she is or polyamory is just something that she does.

I Met All My Friends On Dating Apps debuted to sold out audiences at A Pinch of Vault Festival in February 2024 followed by a successful run at Camden Fringe. Audiences have described this show as “An intimate little trip of human connection” and “Heartfelt, funny and incredibly relatable”.

This summer we are adjusting our location settings and making connections with audiences in Brighton (Lantern Theatre, 12 - 15 June), Cambridge (Town & Gown Theatre, 2-3 July) and Bristol (The Alma, 16-18 July)...

But we need your help to get there. Like a monetary wingman, so to speak.

So far this show has been made entirely without funding. That's thousands of pounds in wages alone that the incredibly talented folks that made this piece possible have gone without because they believed in me and this idea. I don't feel right about continuing to ask them to work for free.

Stories about non-monogamy are sorely underrepresented in the arts. Not only do I think it is important for less-sensationalised accounts of non-monogamy to be seen, but I hope that this show will inspire other non-monogamous artists to tell their stories. In each city we will be hosting a mixer event and a post-show panel discussion with members of the local non-monogamy community to get a wider perspective and help those who feel on the fringes of the non-monogamy community to find a sense of belonging and meet like-minded people.

While keeping our fingers crossed that Arts Council England will support the majority of our costs (ie rehearsal fees, making the work accessible through Audio Description and BSL interpretation, PR, wages, etc) we have had to look for other ways to get this show on the road. We've even started a cabaret fundraiser (I Met All My Friends At The Cabaret) that will go on to benefit other artists from marginalised communities!

Our £4500 goal will go towards one phase of the tour - Brighton. You will help us pay for:

- Venue hire at The Lantern Theatre
- Staff costs - Producer, Director, Technician and Stage Manager
- Transportation for the team and props
- Accommodation
- Press Night
- Filming and editing a professional trailer

Basically, your pledges will allow us to bribe the press with cheap lager in exchange for good reviews, fairly pay the freelance artists who have devoted their time and talents to making the show possible, further market the show with a snazzy trailer, and physically get to the places that we have signed contracts to say that we will be!

Every penny counts towards our goal, but I know what it's like to want to help and not have the means to. If you find yourself in that position, sharing a link to this fundraising page and following us on Instagram helps too.

Thank you for caring enough to read this. You're wonderful!
