My name is Shawon. I live in the UK, work full-time, and am facing around £50,000 in debt. I'm asking for help to reduce that debt and rebuild my life.
Most of this debt came from trading. After losing money, I kept hoping I could recover my losses. Instead, my decisions made things worse. I take responsibility for those decisions, and I deeply regret them.
My monthly debt repayments are around £4,000—more than I earn. Despite working full-time and trying to find a way forward, I haven't found a manageable solution. The constant pressure has seriously affected my mental health.
Over the past week, I've had frightening thoughts of ending my life. It's difficult to admit that publicly. But I want to be clear: I don't want to die. I want to live, recover, and build a future beyond these mistakes.
I've always tried to help others when I could, including supporting students who couldn't afford their education. I never expected anything in return, and I never imagined I would be asking strangers for help myself.
My hope is that 50,000 people might each be able to spare £1. Together, that would raise £50,000 before fees. Donations would go towards paying down my existing debts, and any amount raised would help.
I know nobody owes me anything. I'm asking for support as I work to get back on my feet. Please only donate if you can comfortably afford to. If you can't give, sharing this page would also mean a great deal.
I don't want my worst financial decisions to define the rest of my life. I want a chance to rebuild, and I'm grateful for any kindness and support along the way.
Thank you for reading.
Shawon
