Two years ago, I weighed 600 pounds. I didn’t think I’d survive. Today, I’ve lost over 300 lbs — and I need your help to finish.
My name is Caitlin. You might know me as @599.to.damnshesfine.
For 27 months, I’ve shared every raw, real moment of this journey publicly — because I wanted people to know that change is possible, no matter where you’re starting from.
Here’s where I started.
In 2023, I was 500 pounds and slowly giving up on my life. I’d become deeply involved in an online community that encouraged weight gain rather than my health. By the end of that year, I reached 600 pounds — and the world had literally stopped fitting me.
The turning point came at Christmas 2023, when I was hospitalized for a week. Something as simple as sitting behind the wheel of my car had caused a severe infection because my body no longer fit safely in the seat. That was my rock bottom.
A night nurse sat with me on December 26th and reminded me I was still young, still worthy, and still had a choice.
On January 1st, 2024 — I made mine.
What I’ve done since then:
• ✅ Lost 300+ pounds
• ✅ Underwent VSG surgery (April 2024)
• ✅ Completely rebuilt my life through discipline and consistency
• ✅ Less than 50 pounds from my goal weight
The final obstacle: excess skin.
After extreme weight loss, my body is carrying an estimated 50–60 pounds of excess skin. This isn’t just a cosmetic issue — it causes daily pain, limits my mobility, and makes it nearly impossible to see how far I’ve actually come.
The procedures required go far beyond what insurance will cover. While a panniculectomy may be partially covered, I need extensive skin removal, muscle repair, and multiple lifting procedures — all classified as cosmetic, all largely out-of-pocket.
I’m working with my surgeon, Dr. G, to plan these stages safely.
I have done the hardest part. I showed up every single day for two years.
Now I’m asking for help crossing the finish line.
Every donation — no matter the size — brings me one step closer. And if you can’t give, a share genuinely changes everything.
Thank you for being part of this.
— Caitlin
