Hi, my name is Natasha A. Walker, and I’m a children’s book author working on my Shane series. I’ve already written my first book, Shane’s Fun Day, and I was in the process of revising my second book when something devastating happened.

Just last Wednesday, I was hacked while trying to join an online Bible study. I didn’t realize the link I clicked was fake until it was too late. My phone, Cash App, emails, and personal information were all compromised. They accessed everything and left me locked out of my accounts. Now, I have no phone, no tablet, no laptop—nothing to continue my writing or even stay connected.

I am on disability and can’t afford to replace these items on my own. My husband has always been the one taking care of me, and after losing everything over the last two years, we are currently living with our son while trying to rebuild our lives. My dream of completing this children’s book series is one of the few things that gives me hope and purpose.

My goal is to raise $800 to replace my phone and get a basic laptop so I can safely restart my accounts, protect my identity, and continue writing the Shane series. My dream is to finish revising my second book and keep going with this series that brings joy, imagination, and representation to children like my grandson, who inspired these stories.

I haven’t lost my dream, and I haven’t lost faith—I’m just asking for help to keep going.
