I Lost A Pillar: The Death of my Sister

Hi. My name is Mike Mac.. around 6:05 am EST yesterday (6/6/25), I received a call from my brother via my mother’s phone. I received a call that I wasn’t expecting: the murder of my closest sister, Racquel. She was only 35.

Nothing could’ve prepared me to lose one of the pillars in my world that kept me sane. I’ve been living in NYC for eight years, but when I visit home in Mississippi, you better believe she’s coming to see me, like I’m coming to see her. And now I have to process my life without her. I don’t know how to gather any thoughts without feeling hatred and anger for how everything transpired.

At this time, I’m financially in a bind, like many at this time due to the foreseen circumstances of an ugly situation in politics and the White House, but I can’t go through missing my sister’s funeral, thus this GoFundMe.

All proceeds WILL go to traveling me to Mississippi to see my family. I have to fly plus take a bus to my hometown. As for anything, it more will go to my sister’s funeral as a donation to the church or towards the repast. I’m awaiting information regarding services, but I would be very appreciative for any assistance.
