Here is a video I made before my mom was forced to leave with nowhere to go. Since this video, she has been forced out of her only stable living option by someone who we never hesitated to help. (See My Why Part 2 for the updated video)

Hi, my name is Jackie, and I’m raising funds to help my disabled mom and 13-year-old brother find safe, stable housing after an incredibly painful and traumatic experience.

Not long ago, my mom was not just locked out—she was kicked out of her home by someone we once considered family. Her belongings were thrown outside, and a photo was sent to her as a final blow. Since then, she’s been living out of hotels with my little brother, trying to survive one day at a time.

Now, hotels are no longer an option because funds have dried up.

So, she is inevitably going to be couch surfing until I can get up the funds to help her have a place to stay.

My mom is disabled and a single mother. She currently has no income whatsoever. While she is waiting for her disability benefits to be approved, she’s been depending entirely on me. I’ve been doing everything I can to support her and my brother—scraping together what little I have to keep them off the streets—but the cost of hotel rooms is unsustainable and now there is nothing left to give.

This is not a long-term ask—we just need help getting through this critical gap until her benefits come in and we can get them into stable housing.

We’re hoping to raise $4,500 to cover:

She already has her furniture in storage. What we need now is a safe roof, a warm bed, and a little breathing room.
