TL;DR: The consequences of things beyond my own control are causing me to live in a situation I cannot sustain myself in. I'm doing my best but it's no longer enough. Check out my dog, maybe it'll be enough to let you read some of this stuff.
My name's Ez, lotta people online in most of the circles I've landed in call me Stab, it's been a nickname for awhile and has just stuck ever since. I live in Oklahoma, formerly Florida. I'm both a student trying to get a Bachelor's, hopefully even Master's in CIS (Computer Information Systems) so I can get on with my life, and I work for Costco Wholesale - been about 8 years of employment. I've had a rough life, but it has been endured for as long as possible because I like to believe that there's some sort of light at the end of a fucked up tunnel. Abuse, neglect, assault, homelessness - it's been wild but I'm still here. I shouldn't give a whole sob story about how oh so miserable my life is. It isn't bad. I've been surrounded by kind friends who have been better to me than my family ever has. My friends are the one's who kept telling me to make something like this. That life just refuses to get better as if I've lost all sense of agency in my life. I need help, and this was the absolute last resort.
I wish it wasn't a matter of politics, but it is. I'm Afro-Latino and a lot of my family are immigrants to the USA. The country my immediate family is from had their TPS (Temporary Protected Status) revoked. Without a long explanation, TPS allows immigrants to work in the country for a set amount of time so long as they renew the work visa. Without that visa, they could essentially be branded as illegal and deported at the behest of someone else's whims. When the TPS for Honduras expired on the 8th of September, 2025 a lot of my family was in trouble. My uncle lost his job, who was part of my immediate family, and some extended family went back to Honduras before the situation got any worse. On top of that I was given an ultimatum to either take on another job and stop going to school, or leave and still gold control over my life; I left. My family was at least understanding enough to realize why I had to leave and gave me a good farewell. There's just a massive problem with that:
I helped pay for the house they live in. I have to pay the bank loan I took out to help, my own credit card loans because of that house and the emergency of leaving it, school loans, and now all the natural struggles that come from living on one's own. Getting robbed definitely didn't help. Can you imagine? Moving into a new life as a sudden matter, not an emergency, and then getting robbed the day you make landfall? Why can't my problems just be a toxic family or abusive partner? Why is it financial?!
I know it was the best decision to leave because I can still go to school and work. I'm thankful for that. A friend was willing to take me in and let's me stay under his roof until I'm able to get on my own feet. Aside from that, I couldn't bear asking him for more. I pay what I can for rent to help him out and make sure I don't take up a lot of space. This month, the month of October, I was unable to pay rent. My friend was understanding this time, but what about the next time it happens?
My savings have disappeared ages ago, I'm in a battle between credit card, school loans, bank loans, and living expenses that shows no signs of letting up. I did budget check time and time again, tried finding extra work that I can manage while working and studying, and all the signs point to having nothing in my bank account time and time again. If I can somehow make $0 last two years, then I can officially pay off the bank loan and have a sense of agency again. I need help. I'm not asking for a goal or some kind of miracle to fly by - just something to keep me afloat.
I know these kinds of websites demand that I have a goal in mind for it, so I'll just say a ridiculous number like $8,000 dollars. Why that number? That's the limit of my credit card.
